Salvage

There's an utter mess scattered over Washed Up Beach today, and a few people who seem to be trying to clean it up. Since the weather in the Nexus is always warm enough to go swimming (except when it isn't) there's also one family already who arrived with a picnic basket and found the beach just isn't suitable for that today. Care to have a look?

(This continues just after this scene. Feel free to talk to anyone there if you want, or just walk up and start poking around. I just ask that no one successfully walk off with any critical parts as there are plans to put that back together. XD )

[Dee nods] Yeah, that's a good point. You can't have a battle without somebody losing. Unless everybody just refuses to fight, but I don't think that happens much.

No, I guess it's not. That's a -- stalemate, I think? Or a cease-fire? [she's not sure of the word where people just refuse to fight]

[Dee nods] Yeah, I guess so. Maybe it's not as epic as a battle, but it's probably nicer for everyone involved.

Yeah. . . I know I wouldn't want to be in the middle of a proper battle with swords and arrows and all that.

The what now? [Dee bites her lip] Or, uh, do I not want to know?

Yeah, okay, let's leave that alone. [She'll put a few more decorations on her castle instead] I think I prefer fictional battles to real ones.

[Dee nods] Yeah. [of course, things get more complicated when you remember that things that are fictional in one place can be real in another. . .but let's not get into that just yet] Anything else you wanna add to the castle?

Cool! [Dee claps her hands to clear the sand off them] Hopefully the tide won't come lapping at it too soon.

Nope -- but there's nothing stopping somebody from making another one. Things get destroyed, things get built -- just keeps going round and round. [she swirls her hand around for emphasis]

Oh -- sorry, they don't use that name where I'm from. So "Arda Marred" is just -- anywhere and everywhere people might be?

Arda is my world. *He seems to have figured out that the his bit is important now, though he's not sure why.*

Ahhh. Yeah, my world's called Earth -- well, in general. There's a lot of countries and states and cities and whatnot all over it. The city I'm from is called Chicago.
