[There is a DeLorean, heavily modified, doing laps in an empty, paved part of the Nexus. One might wonder what the driver is doing -- practicing for a race? Working on their turning? Just burning rubber because they're bored?
And then one might get a little closer -- and see that there IS no driver.
. . .perhaps it might be fairer to say that the car is bored.]

Date: 2022-08-14 03:38 am (UTC)[Marty] Also died to bears for ages. Bears are big and probably don't like being kept out of places.
[Victor, as Chester entertains himself with his sleeve] Tall enough fence?
[Alice] I think at least some bears are pretty good at climbing.

Date: 2022-08-15 03:58 am (UTC)[Marty] We'd better hope not, because there'd be no WAY to stop a bear getting inside anywhere if there was a tree nearby.

Date: 2022-08-16 03:11 am (UTC)[Alice] Not loudly, though, because there's a bear around.

Date: 2022-08-18 03:31 am (UTC)[Dee, groaning] Marty!
[Marty, snickering] He walked right into it!
That was indeed the reference in my head :D
Date: 2022-08-18 04:23 am (UTC)Hehehehe XD
Date: 2022-08-20 03:32 am (UTC)[Marty] He played baseball back in -- think it was late forties through mid-sixties? Anyway, he was a catcher who turned coach, and he had a habit of saying stuff like "it's deja-vu all over again" and "you can observe a lot by watching." Became pretty well known for it, in fact -- they call stuff like that "Yogi-isms" now.
[Victor, surprised] You know a lot about this.
[Marty, shrugs] I like baseball.

Date: 2022-08-21 03:42 am (UTC)[Marty, holding up a hand] I do wanna point out he was actually a damn good baseball player. I mean, he made All-Star for 15 seasons. And he was the catcher for Don Larsen's no-hit perfect game in the 1956 World series.
[Dee] Guy just couldn't resist maling a prop, huh?
[Marty] Well, he quit school after eighth grade, so. . .

Date: 2022-08-22 03:38 am (UTC)[Dee, shrugging and nodding] We do all have our strengths. His was catching baseballs.

Date: 2022-08-24 03:34 am (UTC)[Doc] Perhaps not unique, but still one of a rare breed. [because these guys aren't familiar with a lot of awful idiots either]

Date: 2022-08-27 03:32 am (UTC)[Doc] That's a hard thing to research, as what someone is good at might be something they might never try under normal circumstances.
[Alice] And I can say from personal experience what some people are good at is being utter arseholes to everyone around them.

Date: 2022-08-27 04:17 am (UTC)*Alice's comment makes him sigh.* Fuck those people.

Date: 2022-08-28 02:29 am (UTC)[Dee, nodding in agreement with Palmer's comment] Yeah. Still wish sometimes I could find Biff Tannen now and smack him in the face with my door. Once in an alternate timeline wasn't enough.

Date: 2022-08-28 03:39 am (UTC)Just smack him? You have restraint.

Date: 2022-08-29 03:48 am (UTC)[Dee, shrugging] Depends on the version of Biff I run into. The one in the current version of 1985 in my timeline keeps his assholishness to small stuff these days.
