[There is a DeLorean, heavily modified, doing laps in an empty, paved part of the Nexus. One might wonder what the driver is doing -- practicing for a race? Working on their turning? Just burning rubber because they're bored?

And then one might get a little closer -- and see that there IS no driver.

I'll at least be a lot more subtle around the kid, promise. I don't want him to freak. Although he might cope better than an older kid, fewer preconceptions. *A moment of thought.* Then again, the way I change tends to be messy.

[Dee] Maybe see how he reacts to me changing into a car first?

Yeah, that seems sensible. Surprised you haven't done it already, honestly.

[Dee] There -- hasn't really been a reason to do it before now? Especially since in car form I'm a two-seater that isn't really baby safe.

[Alice] Yes, when we go anywhere in here, we tend to walk.

Alright, I suppose that's fair.

[Dee, shaking her head] DeLoreans weren't really made with families in mind.

[Alice] You're still a wonderful car, though. And I'm sure Chester will be happy to take trips in you when he can be properly buckled in.

[palmerthing]

It's nice to be around people who casually say weirder shit than I do.

[Alice snorts] To be fair, we've had a lot of time to get used to all this weird shit.

[Dee laughs] Yeah, and sometimes we are the weird shit.

Another reason to be glad that I'm here.

[Dee] Yeah, totally. Here weird is basically normal.

[palmerthing]

*He grins.* It's such a relief.

[Alice, smiling back] It is, isn't it? We'd all stick out too much in our own worlds, but here. . .it's safe to be ourselves.

[Dee] Exactly! This place is explicitly for everybody!

[palmerthing]

Yeah.

I should probably get going at some point here, I'm sure we all have things to do . . ?

[Victor bounces Chester] Yes, it's probably time for this little fellow to head home for a nap, honestly. But it was good to catch up.

[Dee] Yeah! And I'm glad I could help you get that force field thing!

[palmerthing]

It was, yeah.
