There is a little old man in the Nexus today, dark of skin and bright of clothing. He seems entirely unsurprised by being here. He also seems, when the light hits him just right, to have too many limbs to his shadow.

Mr. Nancy is in the house.

[Doc nods] It is. I might take a turn myself on that -- usually I leave the singing to Marty, but. . . [shrugs]

[a_nancy]

Well then, what are you waiting for? Lets see what you can do.

[clockwork_doc]

[That gets a grin] Just making sure no one else was going to claim the machine first! [And, since it does seem to be free, off he'll go! His song of choice is "Old Time Rock n Roll," which he puts his all into]

[a_nancy]

*Mr. Nancy hums along cheerfully.*

[clockwork_doc]

[Doc eventually finishes up and returns to his seat, grinning] Liked that song ever since I first heard it.

[a_nancy]

Never be afraid to sing a song you like.

[clockwork_doc]

I'll try to remember that. Just, like I said, music is usually Marty's forte. Kid's a hell of a guitar player.

[a_nancy]

I'll have to take a listen at some point.

[clockwork_doc]

[holds up his PINpoint] I could invite him over, if you like. He's a good kid.

[a_nancy]

Might as well.

[clockwork_doc]

All right then. [Doc sends a quick message off to Marty, along with their rough coordinates. A minute later, he receives a reply] On his way -- and bringing the guitar.

[a_nancy]

I look forward to it.

[clockwork_doc]

[it's not long before a young man enters the bar -- he's quite handsome, with soft brown hair and incredibly bright blue eyes -- with a guitar slung over his back. He waves at Doc once he spots him] Doc!

[Doc sits up straight, grinning] Marty! [Excuse him a second as he gets up and gives his friend/honorary nephew a hug]

[a_nancy]

*You are excused, although Mr. Nancy seems slightly disappointed that he doesn't have a name to call out.*

[clockwork_doc]

[Well, here comes Doc now to make introductions] Mr. Nancy, this is Marty McFly, my nephew. Marty, this is Mr. Nancy, storyteller and new to the Nexus.

[Marty offers a hand, smiling] Nice to meet you.

[a_nancy]

*He takes it.* A pleasure. You've got a nice place here by the look of things.

[museicalmarty]

[Marty shakes firmly -- his skin is as soft as it looks, though there are a couple of calluses from the guitar on his fingers. He chuckles] Not really our place, but it's plenty of fun to visit. Doc said something about you guys doing karaoke?

[a_nancy]

I happen to be rather fond of it, so we had a round or two.

[museicalmarty]

[Doc, with an almost fatherly chuckle] I may have been bragging about your own musical prowess.

[Marty, grinning] I figured when you told me to bring the guitar. Though, is it still karaoke if you've got an instrument?

[a_nancy]

A very good question. I'll have to think about that one.

[museicalmarty]

[Doc gets thoughtful himself] I'm not sure. I mean, traditionally karaoke is singing along to other music than your own, isn't it? But I don't know if there's any official rules against playing along to the song as well as singing. . .

[Marty nods] Well, while you're thinkin', I'm gonna see if anybody minds me playing something. [he'll ask the bartender, since he's not sure who else to question]

[a_nancy]

*Luckily, the bartender doesn't seem to mind.*

[museicalmarty]

[Marty thanks the bartender and heads over to the general area of the karaoke machine, waving at any curious patrons] Hey folks! Got an oldie here for you -- well, it's an oldie where I come from. [he moves the guitar around to the front, strums a couple of practice chords, then launches into "Johnny B. Goode."]

[And it quickly becomes apparent that, if anything, Doc was underselling his musical talents. He plays that guitar like he was born with one in his hands]

[a_nancy]

*Mr. Nancy sits back and enjoys the show.*

[museicalmarty]

[As does Doc, who applauds along with the rest of the patrons as Marty wraps up the song, takes a bow, then vacates the "stage" for the next person] Bravo!

[Marty grins] Yeah, guess they liked me, eh Doc?
