A new but probably familiar to some arrival

Well... This was interesting. Forte had been out exploring on her own in armor again, not that she could get very far with the wall blocking their home. Well, not usually.

But today was different. Today she'd found an opening. A gap. And she was planning to make the most of it. She'd missed the alternates, but there was no way of knowing if they were still around. Or if they're even around anymore. But the sign was familiar.

But she doesn't really have a question. Just curiosity and the urge to explore. Her Gospel was tagging along at her heels.

"A few different places," Forte says with a bit of a shrug. "I don't know if you remember when the Nexus was being used to gather stuff up for the Mars Colony... Heh, it's still being used for supplies. But they're a side effect of that."

Forte's trying to remember it. "I think I remember some. But it feels like it's been such a long time, Forte. There was all of the bad things that happened... And the others keep trying to protect me still."

Forte nods. "Yeah, we've been through World War Four since I saw you last..."

Really sorry this took so long. Between getting a job and illness...

That was worrying for Forte to be hearing. Especially as she knew her brothers would be concerned too. "Things have been that bad? Is everyone okay?"

"I think everyone you'd know is still in one piece," Forte says. "Earth's population fits in two cities, though."

"I'm glad to hear everyone is okay... But what happened to the humans?" Forte is a touch confused at the idea.

"Bioweapons, mostly, released by some nutjob named Weil who made old man Wily look sane by comparison." He's a bit peeved he missed out on that last fight, but he'd been busy on the front lines. There'd been plenty of fighting to go around, at the end. "For all the crap we can say about the Doc, at least he never tried to kill everyone on the planet, just take it over and kill anyone in the way."

Forte frowned. "Why would he kill everyone? I don't understand the point of that... Besides, some humans aren't so bad."

"Because he went nuts in a way that made Wily look like the picture of sanity," Forte says. "Or maybe 'possessed' is a better word than nuts."

He snerks. "It's not even that easy to tell who's human and who isn't any more. Things have changed..."
