A new but probably familiar to some arrival

Well... This was interesting. Forte had been out exploring on her own in armor again, not that she could get very far with the wall blocking their home. Well, not usually.

But today was different. Today she'd found an opening. A gap. And she was planning to make the most of it. She'd missed the alternates, but there was no way of knowing if they were still around. Or if they're even around anymore. But the sign was familiar.

But she doesn't really have a question. Just curiosity and the urge to explore. Her Gospel was tagging along at her heels.

Mistral nods. "We do it all the time. It keeps my brothers out of worse trouble."

Forte thinks it over. "It would help if you have aggressive family."

"Arashi has temper issues," Mistral admits. "And Blaze, well, he's more interested in being paid, and doesn't mind throwing around fire spells."

"I'm the oldest, so I have to try to keep them in line, and this seems to work."

Forte nods. "My family tends to be temperamental too. I understand that. We just don't have the outlet. Not normally. Other than raiding..."

"We had to find one through this place, just to make sure we didn't stir things up at home. Maybe your family could do the same."

"Now that the route here has reopened, that's likely. It closed for a while. Which really sucked."

Kitty's done with her wash for now, and with typical feline arrogance decides Mistral isn't paying enough attention to her. The headbutt nearly knocks the small Waltz down, but he doesn't seem to mind... just scritching the displacer now that he knows where she is.

"Hmph. I guess that could be a danger, when visiting other worlds. It's interesting, but I wouldn't want to be trapped there... or anywhere else where I couldn't get home at least some of the time."

Forte nods. "It's a big danger... I wouldn't want to get trapped away from home. But I hate never leaving more."

Mistral nods. "I know what you mean. The Black Mage village can be... boring. And I think we were designed with some kind of species pecking order." There's a hmph from him at that, a bit cross at the idea. "Being around the older Black Mages isn't easy. We... me and the other Waltzes... they're sort of our parents, but at the same time it just feels natural to try to boss them around. And they let us do it. It's one of the reasons Rydia started taking us to other worlds to start with."

Forte frowned at that. "There was supposed to be a pecking order in my family. It's long since died... And even if my brothers are older, sometimes it's hard to listen." She knows the feeling.

"The older Mages had trouble telling us to do anything, sometimes. They don't really like to argue, and we were more stubborn than the other hatchlings. It really was a good thing Rydia was there." Arashi and Blaze were bratty enough at times as they were.

((I'd thought RL got in the way again and then just got distracted. Can start to wrap these up so we can go on to the something new if you want?))

"Stubborn isn't always a bad thing to be. But there are times when listening is safer/" Thinking back to some of the bad things that have happened...

Mistral nods, "And it really didn't help with the way my brothers acted sometimes. I couldn't make them behave all by myself. They'd be even worse if Rydia hadn't been there."

"It's not really the older Mages' faults, though. They're just... designed that way, I guess. Or maybe it's still that they aren't really that old, even though they're older than us. Not that it seems that way sometimes."

Kitty gives a huge yawn, and then looks around. She's wondering if it's getting close to dinnertime.
