Well... This was interesting. Forte had been out exploring on her own in armor again, not that she could get very far with the wall blocking their home. Well, not usually.

But today was different. Today she'd found an opening. A gap. And she was planning to make the most of it. She'd missed the alternates, but there was no way of knowing if they were still around. Or if they're even around anymore. But the sign was familiar.

But she doesn't really have a question. Just curiosity and the urge to explore. Her Gospel was tagging along at her heels.

"It sure sounds like it. I'm glad Levi's not that bad... I mean, I'm pretty sure she has me tracked and stuff, but other than that. She trusts me not to go jump in a volcano or something stupid."

Thomas fidgets slightly. He hadn't meant to upset her. Time for a bit of a subject change. "Well, no one's here now, and there's a beach that way." He waves in the general direction and adds, "Wanna go swimming?"

"That's right, they don't," Thomas says cheerily. "The beach is this way!" And he'll head in that direction.

"I'm glad you did, too," Thomas says, as he hops down the rocky slope that leads to the beach.

It's a nice stretch of beach, if, perhaps, one of those that tends to look a bit lonely. Sand and pebbles, and bits of driftwood... and Heat chasing winged lobsters with a large butterfly net.

Ok, it's still a Nexus beach.

S'ok, I've had some distractions myself

"Yeah, this place is a lot of fun." Thomas notices Heat and snickers. "I guess he's planning to make more Buffalo Lobster Wings." He'll shake his head and add, "No one likes Heat's cooking unless they have a fire affinity. He just makes it way too hot."

Thomas thinks about it for a moment. "I don't think it's bad, really... just really really hot. Most of the fire types seem to like it. I guess they're sort of immune or something."

He's found a rock to jump off of, and after waving for Forte to join him he dives into the water.

"Maybe," says Thomas, as he resurfaces with a splash, bobbing in the water. He's grinning, partly because he loves being in cold water and partly because he'd still been able to hear her. He knows he probably wouldn't if he'd still been human. It makes him wonder why the rest of the ones left don't just 'upgrade' and get it over with.

"It's ok. I mean, it's a little chilly I guess, though I don't mind that... but water won't hurt you, right?"

"I hadn't thought about that, but I guess some of the older ones aren't waterproof, are they..." He thinks about that for a moment. "Still, that's only two things now on the down-side of the list, and a whole lot more on the other."

"Yeah, I can see where they wouldn't like water much... I didn't think about the whole elements thing. It..." he pauses, thinking it over. "I wonder if that makes me a water design? Or maybe water and ice, like Levi? I don't know. I like water, and I don't mind the cold any more, even when it should be freezing... it just doesn't feel that way. But I don't understand how I could really have an element..."
