A new but probably familiar to some arrival

Well... This was interesting. Forte had been out exploring on her own in armor again, not that she could get very far with the wall blocking their home. Well, not usually.

But today was different. Today she'd found an opening. A gap. And she was planning to make the most of it. She'd missed the alternates, but there was no way of knowing if they were still around. Or if they're even around anymore. But the sign was familiar.

But she doesn't really have a question. Just curiosity and the urge to explore. Her Gospel was tagging along at her heels.

Harpuia still visits, as her duties allow. When she does, she checks to see if a certain portal has returned. And, when it hasn't, she goes flying for a while.

When she spots a Forte that's taller than the one from her own world, she pauses in the air. But it's clear to her even before she lands that this isn't the one she was thinking of. The gender is a fairly good clue, once one's close enough to spot that with the armor involved.

She lands anyway, but says nothing. She's not sure what to say.

Forte sees the fellow flyer, smiling and waving. Not that she'dd flown in today, but she's still nervy about using the flight sometimes. "Hi there."

"Hello. My apologies, I mistook you at first for another Forte. I'm Harpuia."

Forte nods. "It's nice to meet you. You know another me?" She doesn't seem confused. Actually, almost hopeful. "Does he look younger?"

"One is, the other would be about the same apparent age as you but was male."

"I still owe him a rematch." The old excuse is spoken before she even thinks about whether there would need to be one.

Forte tilts her head at that. "What kind of rematch?"

"Sparring. It's a long story."

"Have you been in the Nexus for long?" Harpuia's wondering if she has to go through the new arrival warnings.

Forte nods. "We were. Then we couldn't get back for a while. I found a way."

[stormbunny]

"In that case, welcome back, and I won't have to give the warnings about LOLs."

Forte frowns. "Some things just don't change about this place."

[stormbunny]

"No, they only become weirder. Even the weather has been strange recently. There were reported showers of dehydrated potato flakes not long ago... and chocolate covered raisins before that. Neither had any odd effects beyond existing."

Forte laughs at that. "That's not too bad. Just odd."

"True. It wasn't harmful, and I shouldn't complain about free un-LOLed food. There are no shortages now... but I still remember that far too well."

Forte frowns. "Shortages?" She's never had to do without...

[stormbunny]

"Nothing you need to be concerned about," Harpuia says, frowning slightly and looking away. She doesn't like to think about that time... she and her siblings did too many things that she's ashamed of, and even brainwashing doesn't feel like enough of an excuse to her to wash away the guilt.

Forte watches the other carefully. "You are upset."

"It wasn't a pleasant time. I'd prefer not to dwell on it."

"Do you expect to visit the Nexus often, now that you can?" She's wondering if she should inform Xavier. 'Copy-X' rarely visited the Nexus himself, finding the chaos disturbing... but he liked to be kept informed.

Forte pauses to think it over. "Depends on my family."

Harpuia nods. "That's always an important consideration."

[youngnotstupid]

"Considering how much trouble I'm caused them. I owe my family a lot."

[stormbunny]

Harpuia just nods slightly to that, thinking of some of the trouble she'd caused her own family. She'd even attacked Mega during the time she'd been under Weil's control.

"And your family might visit as well?" A whole other universe of Wilybots was certainly a matter that should be reported, just in case. She and her siblings were on good terms with the ones from her own world - good enough to understand that Wilybots could be temperamental.

Forte nods, smiling. "Of course. We've all missed the Nexus. It's been so long... They get restless. I think they need the new place to go..."

"If they're anything like the Wilybots I know, I could imagine that they do." She pauses as she realizes her manners have been lax.

"I can guess your name, but I've forgotten to mention mine. I apologize. I am Harpuia Light." She'd learned a very painful lesson once about not mentioning her family right away around strange Wilybots. If she was going to be hated for being related to Rock, best to get it out of the way.

Forte smiles at that. She's gotten used to the idea of dealing with Lightbots, as well as strangers knowing her... "Nice to meet you, Harpuia."

The reaction is welcome, though not what Harpuia had expected given previous Nexus experience with Wilybots from universes other than her own. "Likewise, Forte."

There's a twitch of a smile before she adds, "I know at least one of my siblings will have no issue with the idea of more Wilybots visiting the Nexus. Fafnir tends to mingle well with anyone who shares his fondness for blowing things up..."
