Looking For A Lost Friend

Have a confused Marty wandering around the general question area, looking like he's searching for something -- or, rather, someone. "Where the hell -- okay, you know what? Place is for questions -- anybody seen Victor? He said he was going to 'clear his head' about an hour ago, and we thought he'd be back by now."

[For those curious, Victor does happen to be in the Nexus -- passed out on a rather large couch that Marty just hasn't come across yet, thanks to the weird way space and directions work in this place. Maybe it thought he needed the sleep]

[Marty gives him a sympathetic look] You're -- not as creepy to me, personally, as a Fae? Which I know sounds weird, but -- well, look at my life. I know you try your best.

Yeah, I'm actually doin' pretty damn well with this being decent thing. Haven't even tested the whole anti-violence thing yet. *He's perhaps a bit more proud of managing that than is comforting, but that's because he knows what he is and what his kind evolved for.*

[Marty's not going to begrudge him his pride -- he's seen the movie, he knows what Things usually do when around people] You are! Though it helps that people have been decent to you first, huh?

Yeah, that's definitely helped. People just accept me, in all my weirdness. It's great.

[museicalmarty]

[That gets a full grin] Yeah, it is. Really nice not to have to worry about all your weird shit, past or present. Or future.

The future can handle itself for now. *No need to even consider home just yet.*

Heh, yeah. Better to focus on the here and now.

Yeah . . . *He thinks for a second.* You got the time? Not that it means much to me, but you'll have to sleep eventually.

You don't sleep? I figured, since you've got the meat. . . [he checks his watch] And it's -- oookay, been longer than I expected. Close to six PM, at least in my world. I left around two looking for Victor.

It's pretty easy to only sleep by halves--that's why dolphins don't drown in their sleep. I have to be at least aware enough to know which shape I should be in, so dozing is really the best I can do.

Sounds like you might wanna get going, then.

Ah, okay, that makes sense.

Probably should -- Alice is probably awake by now anyway. [pause] "Probably" being the key word there.

[palmerthing]

Your turn to sleep now, it seems. *Since everybody else who can has done it.*

Well, not right this minute -- though if that couch is safe, seems like it would be a good place to sneak in a nap whenever he's having a long meltdown.

[palmerthing]

Yeah, probably. Wonder if you could find a bed around here . . .

I'm sure you could -- people have found whole-ass houses and stuff, so a bed should be easy.

[palmerthing]

Sounds more comfortable than a couch, then. Especially for normal people. *Humans can't change shape to fit, after all.*

Heh, well, Victor wasn't looking for a bed the first time. Maybe if he comes back after another round of kiddo screaming, he'll find one.

Fair enough. Now then, you'd better get goin' before we forget and start chattering again.

*He grins.* You too! *A wave of his hand and he's heading off.*
