Despite knowing very well that Quint and his compatriots are mechanical, the fact that they look so much like flesh-and-blood humans means it's still weird for the group to see him chatting with the drones in binary. It cna't be be denied that it's efficient, though -- he seems to be going through the group pretty quickly with those chirps.

"Give me some common words and grammar rules and I'll give it a shot," Doc replies. "Though I imagine I'll have a terrible accent, given I have vocal cords and not an engine."
